The front cover depicts Virginia pastor John Peter Muhlenberg in January
of 1776 at the start of the American Revolution. After preaching a
sermon to his congregation from Ecclesiastes 3, he declared:
"There is a time to fight, and that time has now come!" He
removed his clerical robes to reveal the uniform of a military
officer and led 300 men from his church to defend their liberties.
They became the 8th Virginia Brigade, and Rev. Muhlenberg went on
to become a Major General under George Washington. He was later
elected to the first federal Congress where he helped frame the
Bill of Rights. |

David Barton is founder of Wallbuilders, an
organization dedicated to the restoration of the values on which
America was built and which, in recent years, have been seriously
undermined. As stated by George Washington, David believes that
"the propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can never be expected
on a nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right
which heaven itself has ordained." |
